What’s your favorite bar and what makes it so great? There are so many great bars in Rochester, from MacGregor’s to Hogan’s Hideaway. But, most nights, you’ll catch me at Zebb’s on South Clinton Avenue in Brighton. I started going there because it’s close to my job, and I’ve definitely become a regular within the last year.
They serve Full Moon on draft and the cheeseburgers are the best ever. The bartenders — Heather and Beth — are great, and while the décor is a bit too neon for me, the people are always fun.
Got any funny stories about your bar? Oh my … there are so many funny stories about Zebb’s. Since it’s in my “comfort zone” and the gals at the bar watch out for me, I often meet my first dates there. I’ve definitely had some doozies and everyone gets a good laugh. It’s to the point now where other regulars will nod and wave when I walk in and then look to see who I’m “with” that day.
What’s the craziest thing that you’ve seen at that bar? In general, I’m just appalled at the behavior of some people, and I just have to shake my head and laugh. There was an older gentleman there a few weekends ago mixing draft beer with tomato juice. It was disgusting to see.
What’s the best drink in the joint? Zebb’s makes the best mojitos in town — I promise!
What would you do or where would you go if the place shut down? Ugh, let’s not even discuss it. It’s definitely my go-to place for after work, and I guess I would have to frequent the Distillery more if Zebb’s closed down
