After more than 20 years as a place known for live music, 170 East Ave. is now taking it Easy.
The place
Easy on East, located in the space once occupied by legendary live-music club Milestones and its successor, High Fidelity, has been remodeled into a relaxed bar and lounge. There is a large, square bar in the center of the room surrounded by modern couches and chaise lounges.
"The live music crowd is so fickle," says bartender Jimmy Deckman, 27, of Rochester. "Some nights would be packed, but they'd leave right after the show. Other nights would be empty. Now, it's just ... easier."
Deckman describes his clientele as Rochester's young business professionals.
Easy twofers
Easy on East offers happy hour specials from 5 until 7 p.m., including two-for-one specials on every drink. On Wednesday nights, the bar hosts '80s Ladies, reaching out to the crowd that used to head to Woody's on Monroe for Ladies Night on Wednesdays.
While Easy on East does not have beer on tap, it has 30 bottled-beer selections ranging from $3 to $5.
"There's a good selection," says Deckman. "That has been one of our goals."
