Want your boyfriend to take you out for a nice dinner? Tell him you want to go to a sports bar. P.S. Sagamore Grille is the classiest sports bar you'll probably ever see!
The place
Located on East Avenue at Scio Street (across from the Rochester Contemporary Art Center and Christ Episcopal Church), Sagamore Grille is part of the $1 million, 3,500-square-foot renovation of The Sagamore on East condo/office complex.
"We're a higher-end sports bar," explains manager Tim Spina of Seneca Falls. Three plasma flat screens hang above a long mahogany bar on the right side of the restaurant; to the left are several tables for lunch or dinner patrons.
A cut above pub grub
Lots of sports bars serve loaded cheese fries. But not like Sagamore Grille's, which feature three types of cheese and tempting lil' prosciutto pieces.
Appetizers range in price from $10 to $18, salads are around $9, sandwiches are $11 to $16 and dinner entrees average $15. Sagamore Grille serves lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. during the week and from 12:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. on the weekends.
Coming this fall
Football season is on the way, and, in addition to the NFL ticket package, Sagamore Grille will offer gourmet wing specials, featuring a variety of homemade sauces.
