From the High Falls District to Dub Land Underground, we've got the lowdown on lots of places
Just in time for the return of football and college students, Shooters Bar and Grill in Perinton has opened to serve sports fans more than just wings and beer.
The place
Located in the former Baird Road Pub, Shooters sits at the intersection of Baird Road and Route 31F (Fairport Road), minutes from St. John Fisher and Nazareth. Inside, the space has been completely refurbished and is outfitted with a long wooden bar, three dart boards and other bar arcade games. There's more dining space toward the back of the establishment, broken into four sections raised two steps off of the floor. Each section has three to eight tables for four, a large HD flat-screen TV and two smaller flat-screens (one on either side).
Don't settle
Forget any preconceived notions you might have about what sports bar grub should be. Shooters classes it up with a menu prepared by chef Paul Horan, formerly of the Strathallan. Lunch and dinner menus are served until 10 p.m., and the bar menu is served until 1 a.m. I'm in love with the baked cavatelli (wagon wheel) macaroni and cheese ($7.99), and the lunch portion was large enough that I had yummy leftovers to take home.
Monster specials
Sick of run-of-the-mill pitcher specials? Starting at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, Shooters serves 32-oz. pitchers of Monster Energy drink and vodka for $7. Happy hour, from 3 until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, features $2 domestic pints, $3 well drinks, $4 glasses of house wine and 50-cent wings. And from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m. Fridays, a 20-oz. Blue Light is $3.

Shooters has several local bands lined up to play, including the Skycoasters on Oct. 10.
