Barhopper: Wish

If you’re in Pittsford and looking for a place to have after-dinner drinks, check out Wish in the Pittsford Colony Plaza, across the street from Pittsford Plaza.

With a fresh, elegant feel, this newly opened bar (housed in Tasteology’s former space) also is an option if you’re craving a little something to eat.

The place: An upscale space with an earthy, organic feel. Faux bamboo stalks separate the bar and dining areas, and there are stone accents throughout.

Wish serves a light, gourmet menu (of sliders, wings, shrimp cocktail, etc.) and has plenty of wait staff and seating. But after 10 or 11 p.m., unoccupied tables and chairs are swept away  to create a dance floor.

The bar also has eight flat-screen TVs, while a lounge area with a fireplace offers a place to kick back. In addition, there’s a game room, where you’ll find foosball, darts, pool and more.

The crowd: “We’re aiming for a 25-and-up crowd,” says manager Chris Bedford, 25. “We’d like to find that mix (of younger and older people) where people are comfortable.”

The happy-hour crowd tends to be older and more laid-back, he says, while the younger crowd moves in after 10 or 11 p.m. for the dance floor.

Catch a few rays: Outdoor seating for 20 will be available in the summer, and Wish has a license to serve alcohol in front of the bar.

Cover: None as of now, though it’s possible cover would be charged for some bands.
Drink of note: The Euphoria martini, which is vodka, Malibu rum, pineapple juice and orange juice.
Drink specials: $4 domestics, $4.75 imports, $4.50 draughts, $7.75 martinis and $6 to $10 for wine.
Food: Complimentary fruit and cheese during happy hour and a menu of light, gourmet fare.
Dress code: Casual yet professional. Jeans are OK, hat brims to the front, hoods down.
Music: The bar occasionally hosts live music and DJs; check the Web site for more info.
Parking: Plentiful in plaza lot.
