Tap and Mallet

When Joe McBane and Casey Walpert opened Tap & Mallet at the former McGregor's Southwedge neighborhood location, they attempted to become the "best destination in Rochester for beer and pub food." So far, so good. They visionary owners try to retain the beer's freshness by limiting the number of draft beers to 30 and the kitchen serves dinners and snacks made with fresh ingredients that have influences from around the world.
The pub's decor is contemporary and bright, while original artwork decorates the walls. Other amenities include a free parking lot, full wheelchair accessiblity and a spacious outdoor deck. Special events include beer socials and Cuban style pig roasts. No one younger than 21 is served after 9 p.m. For details, call (585) 473-0503 or visit www.tapandmallet.com.
