2. Enter Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green

If you prefer running to parading, or just want to burn off some of those Guinness calories, Johnny’s Runnin’ of the Green is a good option. The five-mile race through downtown, sponsored by Johnny’s Irish Pub, starts and ends at The Rochester Plaza and benefits the Irish Children’s Program.

When: Registration is from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.; the race starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14.

Where: Rochester Plaza Hotel, 70 State St.

Cost: $25; $22 in advance, which includes a long-sleeved T-shirt.
