'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island'
Plot: In this sequel to 2008’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) and his new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) set out to find the remote idyll described by Jules Verne in his 1874 novel The Mysterious Island.
PG; 1 hour, 34 minutes
Upside: The odd couple banter of Johnson and Michael Caine (as Sean's grandfather), combined with the striking visuals, makes for a mild escapist treat.
Downside: Don’t expect anything resembling believability in this adventure saga.
