Day 13: Ladies Giant Slalom
Lindsey Vonn of the United States crashed into the fence during the Ladies Giant Slalom first run, forcing officials to wave reigning Gold Medalist Julia Mancuso, who was skiing behind Vonn, off the course. Exhausted and skiing on a deteriorating course, Mancuso finished in 18th place and her frustration was very visible. Vonn suffered a broken right pinkie finger from the crash. The second run was postponed due to weather until the next day.
