After a record-setting run on the Vans Warped Tour and then a contract negotiation that left them in limbo three years ago, these days the members of Rochester pop-rock band The Sunstreak can feel vindicated.

This past summer, the band signed a record deal with Merovingian Music, a subsidiary of EMI Music Group. The accomplishment was just the centerpiece of a busy 2009 for the Rochester five-piece. The Sunstreak also shot its first music video, toured across the country and released its new album Once Upon A Lie this past spring.

It's been a long time coming for the band, which formed in 2005. The Sunstreak first gained a buzz when the members sold 25,000 copies of its debut EP on the 2006 Warped Tour, landing them on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. They then
experienced a setback with a contract dispute with their then label, Rochester-based B&W Records. The band remained inactive for almost a year.

However, in the late 2007, The Sunstreak re-emerged landing on a spot on tour with superstar band Daughtry and setting out to record a new album. Earlier this year, Rochester company Film Orange shot the video for the lead-single "Until I Met You" in downtown Rochester.

The radio version of the song will be featured on EMI's re-release of
slightly shorter re-release of Once Upon A Lie which hits all major music outlets through EMI on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Fresh off a cross country tour, the band will make an appearance at 7 p.m. at the Record Archive, 331/3 Rockwood St., to celebrate the album's release.
