Friendship conquers all at the RPO
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra's concert Thursday night was one of friendship all around. English pianist John Lill, soloist for the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 2, shares a close bond with Music Director Christopher Seaman, back from their days in the London Philharmonic. The trust between the two was apparent in the easy communication between orchestra and soloist.
City budget cuts affect the arts
Mayor Robert Duffy today announced the details of his city budget cuts for the 2009 to 2010 budget. In it were a few surprises for arts organizations in Rochester, who are included in the trimming efforts.
Arts: Playwright’s workshop
Rochester offers many opportunities for emerging playwrights - most notably, Geva Theatre Center’s well-established series for new plays.
