Music: Phish sold out; Warped and Chesney news

     If you don’t already have tickets, your summer Phishing plans may have to change, because Phish appears to be the hottest-selling show of the summer. Just hours after the 7 p.m. Aug. 23 concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center went on sale, it sold out at 21,800 people. (There was a fan-club pre-sale earlier in the week.) Interest in the groove band is particularly high after a five-year hiatus.

      Also at Darien, the 15th-annual Vans Warped Tour of punk, metal and music mayhem makes a July 16 stop at the venue. There’s been a little tinkering with the event, with one main stage replacing the two main stages of past Warped tours, allowing the 10 headline acts to play 40 minutes, rather than 30. Otherwise, it’s the same vast field of 80 or so acts and counterculture merchandise booths aplenty. Ticket prices haven’t been announced but will go on sale April 18.

      Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney’s 7:30 p.m. June 4 date at Darien, previously announced as a part of the Country Megaticket package, is on sale as a single show for $39.50 and $80 at www.livenation.com, Blockbuster or (877) 598-8694. Tickets for Darien Lake shows are no longer available at Ticketmaster. Miranda Lambert and Lady Antebellum also perform.
