Wine, chocolate and desserts
Moonlight Creamery at 36 West Ave. in Fairport is hosting its third annual Wine, Chocolate and Dessert Tasting 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 7. The class costs $35 per person, $60 for two. On Feb. 4, Moonlight is celebrating International Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day by opening early at 8:30 a.m. and serving breakfast-themed ice creams such as New York maple and Canadian bacon as well as waffles a la mode. Proceeds from the event benefit the YWCA. The annual holiday was created by the Rappaport family of Rochester in the 1960s. New in Pittsford
The Village Bakery & Café opened this month at 5 State St., Pittsford (behind Starbucks). The focus is on artisan breads, pastries, cakes and desserts, but there is also a café that serves breakfast and lunch. Local and organic ingredients are sought out whenever possible.
